Our Mission
Survival is an instinctual part of us all. Our team is dedicated to connecting your children to a process that not only makes them safer in and around water, but gives you, the parents, peace of mind. We make it our mission to adapt our techniques and approach to every child so that they can learn to trust their own skills if they’re ever in an emergency situation. We commit to our evidence-based process, and we know that with our approach, any child can learn to harness their natural abilities in the water.
Our Vision
Our vision is simple—to provide an open and welcoming environment for parents and their children to learn specific water survival skills. We envision a world where we empower more and more families to go through our process, supported by self-correct science and teaching techniques, so that if an accident does occur, the child has reliable skills for survival.

The Start to Something New
Being in and around the water all of our lives, we’ve grown quite the passion for teaching little ones how to swim, but we both knew we could do more. This was when we decided to make a big move, literally—and sell our home and buy an RV to road trip to Colorado for our certification and survival swimming training. We threw the four kids and the dog in the RV and hit the open road!
A Trip to Remember
You know how family road trips can go sometimes? Where everything seems to be a little more challenging than it should be? Well, we got stuck in Iowa due to a shredded tire on our car dolly and this gave us time to enjoy the scenic views and put our schedule for training in jeopardy. Scroll the RV to the right to see if we made it to our training in time…
We Made It!
After our fiasco in Iowa, we cruised confidently to Colorado where we made it just in time for our certification training! The training was great. We connected our passion for swimming with a more functional and evidenced-based approach and perfected our skills for what would soon be our very own business, Floats To Strokes.
It’s Time to Swim
Armed with our new training, Floats To Strokes really started to come to life. So, we trekked home and got started on standing up our new business to connect our community with a higher standard of survival swimming and spreading the peace of mind we know helps so many parents, just like you!
The Next Part of Our Story is YOU
Now that we’re all splashing together, we’re ready to welcome you to register for lessons and experience our approach to survival swimming. We’ve perfected an easy and adaptable process that can be custom fit to any child and any family or swimmer. We took a chance on our journey from then to now and the next part of our journey is teaching you and your little ones!
